I just happened upon these 2 images of the New York City skyline that I took as a kid with a Kodak Instamatic camera. I remember my dad took me into the city and we visited the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty… these must be from that visit. I love and collect old cameras – and even more, I love these imperfect, yet perfect painterly images that often result from plastic lenses and happy accidents. Under/over exposure, out of focus, hazy, poor quality faded prints… yet so beautiful.
